I am having a heck of a time getting Plex to find all my TV shows. I have tried all the renaming techniques I've read about in the forums, bought and used FileBot, etc. I've tried using s01e01 and also 1x01 as episode identifiers. I've tried keeping all the shows in one folder, and also tried sorting the shows into sub folders named Season 01, Season 02, etc. I've tried using, and not using, hyphens. Presently, my structure for the show Matlock, for which I have 145 episodes, is like shown in the attached screen grabs. Even after having deleted the TV Shows library and recreated it from scratch, Plex is only finding 86 episodes. What am I missing?
is there a way to see on samsung tv (app plex) always in full screen without black bands?
I have two tvs in 2016, I can change it by hand while with the 2017 I can not
can I change something to see any media in full screen?
I am thinking to buy Plex Lifetime Pass just for Plex Cloud, but is it worth it ?
My current setup: I have PMS server at home. Everything works great, load fast, no buffer, can transcode 3-4 media. My internet upload speed is bad so watching high bitrate 1080p movies outside my house is a bit of a pain, lags, buffer, no reliable skipping etc. Other than this, the other problem is electric bill of running 24/7 PMS as electric is expensive in my country.
Assuming I will host my media in Google Drive and assuming that Plex the company will stay solvent for the next 5 years, Plex Lifetime seems affordable solution.
But is it reliable?
When using Plex Cloud does it buffer much? lags? reliable fast-forward/rewind?
Is it good/reliable enough for Library that has around 5000 videos complete with metadata ?
My internet is 100Mbps down and from phones/tablets I have 4G. and my media is mostly X264 and X265 8 bit ready for viewing in phones without transcoding.
I use PlayOn to download movies and TV shows. You can only setup PlayOn to record them to one folder. So, I have that folder listed in Plex's TV Shows and Movies. Most of the time, it knows what it is. But I've got one movie called "Doctor Strange (2016) - PG-13.mp4". It shows up in the movies and gets a good match. But, it also shows up in the TV Shows. This also happens on YouTube videos as well, shows up in both.
Other than a better naming convention, which I cannot control with PlayOn, is there a way to remove it from the TV Shows without removing it from Movies?
