Apply a per-show syncing limit

I’m in the process of moving from an iTunes centric experience and over to Plex. Very impressed so far!

One thing that I couldn’t figure out to do was to sync the unwatched content of all my TV shows, but apply a per-show limit. i.e., “sync the last 3 unwatched episodes from all TV shows”

The challenge I have is that the TV shows I watch tend to come and go and I don’t want to have to setup a separate sync task everytime I add an episode from a show that’s not already in my list.

The other challenge is that I may download the full list of episodes for a couple shows, but only have the “latest” episode for the rest. I don’t want the global limit to be filled up by the full episode list.

For example, I may have in my library the complete Billions Season 1 (10 episodes), the complete Bloodline Season 1 (10 episodes), and I am currently watching Ray Donovan (have 2 episodes waiting to be watched) and Mr. Robot Season 2 (1 episode). With the current “episode limit” setting set to 3, I will only get 3 TV shows and it will likely be 3 of Billions (alphabetically?). What I would like is: 3 of Billions, 3 of Bloodline, the 2 Ray Donovan and the 1 Mr. Robot all synced.

@oliverjhyde can you make sure to click “like” on the original post? FYI, the “+1” comment doesn’t actually count as a vote for the feature.

I had similar idea - make a smart playlist that consists of the first unwatched episode of each TV show in a library folder (or however many episodes you want). If they did that, and then enabled synced playlists, it would achieve the same thing.
