Thumbnails for Home Videos have wrong aspect ratio on iOS

KMVastroKMVastro Posts: 37Members ✭✭

Thumbnails for Home Video media have the wrong aspect ratio on iOS. On my iPad, when 'browsing' or 'discovering' media in a Home Video Library, the thumbnails have an incorrect aspect ratio of 16:9. On the summary screen for a video, it shows the correct aspect ratio of 1:15 (which is the same as on the web-client when creating/editing/updating the library).

The thumbnails on the 'browse' and 'discover' screen on iOS need to be corrected and set to 1:1.5 like they are everywhere else.

Just noticed a type in my first paragraph above. It should read 1:1.5

I'm a bit surprised that there have not been any comments on this issue; not even acknowledgement that it is an issue.

Maybe I was not clear in my description of the bug. I have made some screen grabs to illustrate the problem. I've highlighted with a red circle an example thumbnail in each instance. As can be clearly seen, the thumbnail for the iOS browse page has the incorrect aspect ratio. Recall that this is for a Library of type Home Video.

Pic 1) iOS browse screen, AR = 16:9 (incorrect)
Pic 2) iOS details screen, AR = 2:3
    Pic 3) PC web-client browse screen, AR = 2:3
    Pic 4) PC web-client details screen, AR = 2:3

    Pic 1: iOS, browse, 16:9

    Pic 2: iOS, details, 2:3

    Pic 3: web-client, browse, 2:3

    Pic 4: web-client, details, 2:3

    Versions are as follows:
    server: Version 1.1.3.2700
    web-client: Version 2.7.10
    iOS plex: Version 4.3
    [iOS: 10.0.2]

This bug is still present in the current Plex Client 4.4.1

This is a trivial bug, and should be extremely easy to fix (one line of code, and one line of xml markup).

This bug is still present in the newly released iOS Plex Client 4.6.1.
I am running server 1.3.3.3148 at the moment.
Developers still haven't acknowledged the existence of the bug.

I agree. This mismatch makes library management and creating/choosing posters for home videos a nightmare. With the push towards managing personal content using plex, you would think that this would be a priority for good UX.

    iOS Plex Client: 4.14
    Plex Server (Windows 10): 1.5.7.4016

This is still present in 4.16.

It's an app for Movies that can't properly display posters. Please fix this.

The issue is still present in version 4.16.1

When will the developers fix this extremely long-running bug? It should be trivial to fix.
