Alternative to PLEX?

So sick of the PLEX, can't never watch a movie right away, something ALWAYS goes wrong just when I'm trying to watch something. Now I'm staring AGAIN at "no PLEX Library sections Available". Tried restarting both computer and Apple TV. Checked if I'm signed in, Network works. It's constant hassle! I can hardly figure out what the **** is wrong, after 15-30 minutes of fiddling it works again, just to stop again next time I turn it on. THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL my family would be able to work it without me. I am sick and tired of this app, what else is there that works with Apple TV2?

Did you ever requested support using the required template https://github.com/iBaa/PlexConnect/wiki/How-to-report-an-issue ?

It is true however that PlexConnect developers did not update the product to cope with recent versions of PMS and some of them broke PlexConnect functionalities (such as the required change in PlexAPI in order to have DTS audio), and did not update the documentation to cope with latest PMS versions (notably the "List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth" if you are not logged into MyPlex), so the PlexConnect community is a bit "orphaned" at the moment. But lack of support is something that can happen to any piece of SW.

For the ATV3 there are "casting alternatives" that use AirPlay, such as Synology's Video Station, for ATV2 you can try Kodi or aTV Flash (black)

    QNAP TS-253A 4G QTS + PMS + QPython2 + PlexConnect 0.6

    TV Sony KDL-32V2500 (720p) + aTV3 Rev. A firmware 7.2.2 + Denon AVR-1604 A/V Receiver 5.1 + Harmony Touch

    Portables 1x iPad4, 2x Android phone, 1x Android tablet, 2x PMP on Win10

No support via PM unless requested by me

aTV2 jailbroken can install PlexConnect directly as an app:

Here is the official instructions but I believe the python url still needs an update:

Sounds to me like you are using a theme and the settings tab has an option that isn't working for you that you simply need to switch to a basic list view to get library results. The problem you are going to face using Kodi or on Plex app on lower aTV2 iOS revisions is they do not run natively and run of of memory on the aTV2 and will force a robot due to the iOS crashing. PlexConnect runs natively and since it does works the best out of any third party alternative app. I like Kodi etc don't get me wrong but the aTV2 just isn't a good platform for using them whatsoever. Figure out the issue, it will be well worth the time and effort.
