Can't resume Plex with TV remote on Chromecast after it pauses autoplaying

It seems a feature of Plex to stop autoplaying episodes from a TV show after a certain number of episodes. I assume it's to help people that fall asleep while binging. Seems fair enough. It also gives you an opportunity to take a break.

What I don't like about it is that I can't resume playback on the Chromecast using the TV's remote. I can use it to play/pause on a HDMI CEC compatible Samsung TV, but when Plex stops autoplaying, I can't press the play button to continue. I have to find my phone or my laptop and do it from there. Since this is in the context of binging, my phone/laptop is usually further away from me than my TV's remote. First world problems? Definitely.

I would even vote for a config in the player that deactivates this feature since it's not relevant to me, but that's a different discussion. I'll settle for the remote's play button working.
