Atmos Pass-through on Samsung UBD K8500 BluRay Player

A recent discussion sparked in a reddit conversation led to some questions of atmos and PLEX compatibility.
I have an ATMOS compatible home theater and I want to be able to continue to play ATMOS sound through my theater with PLEX. My BluRay player is Samsung's UBD K8500. Does anyone know if this player supports atmos? Thanks!

As an add-on to this - does anyone know of a list that shows what devices support pass-through on ATMOS? The guys in my post would greatly appreciate that!

That won't work with Plex, because of the way the signal comes in.
With a HDMI connection you can do pass-trough, but the signal for Plex is a stream that comes in over a network card.
To make that work the blueray player would need to have a build-in decoder for Atmos.
That would make the player very expensive , which is the reason why Samsung did not add one.
The only signals it can do are PCM, DTS (not HD) and Dolby Digital (not TrueHD).

Have you checked if your answer might be in the User Manual?
