Library Folder Structure

radjagradjag Members Posts: 1

I have an existing very extensive library of tv shows which I have organised on several USB 4xHDD boxes connected to a media player. Having now graduated to a Smart TV and Wi-Fi, I am considering to have a master set of HDD's on my base PC and use Plex to navigate the library from my TV.
The current folder structure is (for example):-

  • Documentary
  • Docu A
  • A History of Britain 2000
  • A History S01 2000
  • "the individual file names"
Whilst I now realise that I need to re-name every folder name and episode name to TheTVDB.com format - I have too many shows in each category to simply organise them by ShowName - I prefer to have the alphabetical sub-folders.

Can Plex handle this?

The alphabetical subfolders will no longer be required.
You won't be seeing them anyway when you use Plex.

If you cannot live without them, I recommend you to use at least A-D, E-I ... "range" folders, because each of these needs to be added into your Plex library individually.
