Is accessing my public ip:32400 with web client safe ?

I recently noticed i could connect to my plex server by typing my public address and port in the URL and that's using HTTP (instead of HTTPS when acessing with https://plex.tv/web), so my question is, can my authentification informations be stolen while im connecting ? (i've got all secure options set by default, except i configured manual ports)

    No. Only the "web app" as such will be loaded per http. All further communication will be encrypted, nonetheless. You can verify that by looking at the name of your server on the left screen side. A green padlock icon indicates 'Secure Connections'.

    Additonally, you can switch on additonal security by 'requiring' secure connections under
    Settings - Server - Network - 'Show Advanced'
