Fire TV Stick Data Storage Growing

brslybrsly Posts: 7Members, Plex Pass Plex Pass

I am running Plex (version 6.1.1.656) on a Fire TV Stick (Gen 2) and my space was filling up.

When I checked the applications, I found that Plex is using 879MB in data space and still growing. Far more than any other application!

In the settings, I have "Log to Device" disabled.

I checked my Fire tablet, and Plex on it is only using 2.63MB of data.

What is it storing? This seems like a bug to me.

The Plex version 6.2.1.1036 that is now available in the Amazon App store solves the issue.

I don't think there is much, if any technical support here.

Both of your number look off. 879MB looks a lot for the Fire Stick and ~3 MB on your tablet seems too low. The app does keep a cache, but I've only seen it around 100-200 MB at most. Can you provide screenshots of what you see?

I have updated today to the 6.1.3.933 and it is behaving much better. Please get Amazon updated!

I can reinstall the old version and recreate the problem if you tell me how I get you screenshots from a fire TV stick!

Where did you get 6.1.3 from? The version for the Fire TV is special, that you can only get from the Amazon app store. If you are running another version you just found, you will possibly run into issues soon.
