Play H265 natively with the Odroid C2 on board H265 decoder.

Hello
I have searched on the forums & relevant release notes.
However can someone please tell me if H265 decoding is supported on Odroid C2 using its hardware decoder? I am running a WD / Qnap TS251 as my Plex server & neither can transcode h265 to h264. So If OpenPHT on Odroid C2 advertises its H265 decoding capabilities to the Plex server then it may decode it natively on the OpenPHT Odroid C2 clilent.
Consequently I will buy an Odroid C2.

  • H.265 4K/60FPS and H.264 4K/30FPS capable VPU

Please advise.

Hi I had read that post & it does mention that HEVC or H265 is supported "8/10-bit 720p/1080p/2160p HEVC all playback perfectly". However it doesn't mention that it uses the native H265 decoder. But then now in retrospect it wont play smoothly on just the CPU. Still I believe that the post should explicitly mention support for hardware decoding.
    Thanks.
