Why does my server no longer work?

I was in the middle of streaming videos to my 360 when i got a message saying there was an error connecting to the server. No issues with internet or my computer, just stopped working out of nowhere. My libraries and whatnot are accessible on the 360 app but when i go to play a file it tells me there is an error and to make sure my server is accessible.

tried reinstalling both app on 360 and on windows to no avail. also reset router. both are connected locally and are hardwired.
