How to set default version of a file to be played?

I have a series which has two versions of every file: the English edition, made for English productions and the Japanese edition (with subtitles) which is the original aired in the country of origin.

The problem I get is that plex keeps loading the Japanese edition by default, whereas I want the English one by default.

I believe it is because the meta data for the English file denotes it as "SD 166kbps" quality while the meta for the Japanese version is "480p 526kbps".

Is there a way to force plex to choose a specific version over another?

    Just gonna bump this because it hasn't been resolved. No, you can't change the default version. Really frustrating, especially in instances where one of the "versions" of a film is actually just a bundled copy of the trailer.

    Different issue, because there is a way to tell Plex that a file is indeed a trailer and not a real movie:
