sessionId string incorrect for certain client platforms

BlacktwinBlacktwin Posts: 35Members, Plex Pass Plex Pass

With certain client platforms the sessionId string will include the string token= ahead of the actual token. For now the only platform that I've seen this affecting is the Samsung TVUN55HU8550.

PMS is Version 1.9.7.4441

This incorrect sessionId will cause an error and not allow an admin to stop a stream through the webUI.

Error is:

" There was an error stopping playback"

and this in the PLEX logs:

Hi @Blacktwin let's get you moved into the Samsung Smart Hub forum. Clients report a session identifier to the server.

    X-Plex-Product=Plex Web
    X-Plex-Version=3.26.2
    X-Plex-Platform=Chrome

What gave you the idea that this is a Samsung app request?

Have you checked if your answer might be in the User Manual?

The issue was only occurring when trying to stop a stream on a Samsung TV model: TVUN55HU8550

    X-Plex-Product=Plex Web
    X-Plex-Version=3.26.2
    X-Plex-Platform=Chrome

^ is the request from the web server trying to stop the stream, correct?

No, the request comes from the Plex Web client (Chrome browser)
The error about the long-polling isn't really an error BTW. It's just a longpolling request that reconnects, which is normal.
The server logs it, I have no idea why.

I might have jump the gun then. I was under the impression that the line

    Nov 09 07:41:13 PLEX plex_media_server.log: Nov 09, 2017 07:41:12.751 [6184] ERROR - Had trouble breaking sessionId=token=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

was pointing to the problem because of the token= lead. I hadn't seen that before coming from a client. For more context this was found while helping another user with script that would stop a session if it was paused for > X minutes.

So maybe not a Plex/Samsung client issue but maybe something with the PlexAPI-Python that is used to stop the session.
