Samsung tizen app 3.1.0 (3.8.0) Tizen 2.4.0

When direct play does not switch the audio track, when you turn on any subtitles, transcoding starts (graphically clear, but textual, why?) Because of these problems, I can not use the plex on my main device.
In the emby application (with the emby server) everything is in order and with subtitles and with an audio track, then the problem is in the app itself and not in the TV.
Can you fix this? Otherwise you will have to abandon the plex completely. And I do not want to do this.
I hope this will be fixed and you listen to the requests of users. Thank you

I apologize for the quality of the text

Hello! Thanks for the answer. If you do not include subtitles, then there is direct play. And when you play directly, you can not change the audio track (I select another track, but nothing happens) When subtitles are turned on, the server starts "Direct Stream (compressed)" subtitles are displayed but do not match the sound and the video starts to hang.
In the application settings on the TV, enable direct play and direct stream.
Subtitle settings tried different (on the TV) nothing changes
now it's standing there "Burn only image formats" Log and XML Attached, time 12:08 Direct play started, then I turned on the subtitles Rus (full) and the direct stream began. If you need I can send logs with other files and subtitle formats.
Answer please whether this can be fixed and is there any point in waiting? Or just go to another server? Thank you for understanding.

I'm not even so interested in subtitles, like the ability to switch audio tracks in direct play. There is a 2012 release TV connected to the same server (Samsung UE40ES7507 Plex app version 2.007 )There everything is normal, the switching of the track takes place without tearing the video and direct play is not impaired. It turns out that the TV of 2012 works much better than the TV of 2016 (I'm not talking about the number of settings, at least the "color of subtitles")

Many thanks that fixed the problem with the sound, in version 3.2.2 everything works correct. When you turn on any subtitles, still begin converting videos

I'm very sorry for the trouble, but could you answer. Is it possible to make subtitles without transcoding to Samsung tizen? At least a text format. For example: I'm watching a movie with DTS sound and when it's direct play, everything is fine. But in the same movie I need subtitles and as soon as I turn them on, transcoding starts and the sound is transcoded into Dolby Digital. Not only that the sound quality is lost, so also not the weakest computer on windows 10 does not always cope with transcoding, but I want to transfer the plex server to Synology NAS, And he certainly can not cope with transcoding.
Do you have any reason to wait for the changes? Ask questions, create a bunch of posts? Or should one already accept and look for an alternative to Plex? Thank you very much for your understanding, I will wait for the answer

The information I have regarding subtitles and Tizen is this

Only non ASS text based subs will not require a full transcode. ASS based subs can be made to also not require a full transcode by selecting Settings > Video > Burn Subtitles > Only image formats.

The server has just been updated, the logs are already from it. I launched a movie with subtitles "srt", and the server wrote the conversion (compressed) sound direct stream video direct stream. Then I started the video with the subtitles "ass" (in settings on tv enabled "Burn Subtitles > Only image formats.") the server wrote the same thing as before. then I started the video with the sound "DTS" and subtitles "srt" first with subtitles off (server wrote "direct play") I turned on the subtitles and started transcoding conversion (compressed) sound converting from DCA to AAC video direct stream. Logs and description of the video are attached. Is it possible to do this so that if you include at least the subtitles "srt" continued "direct play"?
The fact is that sometimes when subtitles are turned on the video either breaks for a long time or flies with an error.

Do you have any reason to wait for the changes? Ask questions, create a bunch of posts? Or should one already accept and look for an alternative to Plex? Thank you very much for your understanding, I will wait for the answer

The information I have regarding subtitles and Tizen is this

Only non ASS text based subs will not requires a full transcode. ASS based subs can be made to also not require a full transcode by selecting Settings > Video > Burn Subtitles > Only image formats.

There is also the information on the release note http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/307151/plex-for-samsung-2016-televisions

See my earlier post regarding diagnostics which I would like to see if what is happening is not as described above
    http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1608725/#Comment_1608725

Just in case, I post the screenshots of what the server writes when you run those files that I described and posted above:
    When I turn on subtitles

If you turn off the subtitles, then on any file it says:

The only word I can read is Playing

I in the previous post sort of described the problem and put the logs, for the quality of the text, I'm sorry, but the pictures are just for showing what the server is writing. I hope the logs are clear not only "Playing" . but it's clear what the problem is, I asked about it. If it's like that I can help you send the same screenshots in English

it is fine. I am looking at the logs

    Thanks

I will try and get a statement from the development team but I believe that this is how it is for subtitles

The diagnostics did show one anomaly which was the change in behavior for audio dca when the subtitle was added - ending up transcoding it to aac rather than direct streaming as dca

I would like to see the detail of the requests made by the Samsung app for this change - so will need to enable verbose logging as well as debug and do a specific test.

I will summarise below the 4 tests that you did and show in the logs

Test 1 mkv (metadata id 3245) - The Jungle Book
video: h264, audio: ac3, subtitles: srt
Outcome: Direct Stream for Video and Audio and Transcode subtitles encoder=webvtt

Test 2 mkv (metdadata id 1226) - Penes Raros
video: h264, audio: ac3, subtitles: ass
Note: on tv enabled "Burn Subtitles > Only image formats."
Outcome: Direct Stream for Video and Audio and Transcode subtitles encoder=webvtt

    Test 3 mkv (metdadata id 2263) - District 9
    video: h264, audio: dca profile=dts
    Outcome: Direct Play

Test 4 mkv (add subtitle to test 3) - District 9
video: h264, audio: dca profile=dts, subtitles: srt
Outcome: Direct Stream Video, Transcode Audio from dca to aac, transcode subtitles encoder=webvtt

My note I posted before does not appear to be true and I will get a more detailed note

Only non ASS text based subs will not require a full transcode. ASS based subs can be made to also not require a full transcode by selecting Settings > Video > Burn Subtitles > Only image formats.

What I would like to follow up now is the dca to aac transcoding when subtitles added

So enable debug + verbose on the server
enable Samsung plex app logging as before
do tests 3 and 4 and then capture the logs soon after
Limit the activity to just that as the logs may fill much quicker with verbose

If it should be so, then why in some films when the "srt" subtitles are turned on, the application on the TV hangs up and does not fully respond, and on some, the inclusion of subtitles takes a very long time?

log with the situation when the application on the TV stops responding I can also send if necessary
Thank you again for all your help.

Well, here is another problem (and it's repeated all the more often) at 13:20 (1:20) I started the movie on the TV, it started fine, then I turned on "srt" subtitles (forced) and the application on the TV stopped responding, then this movie with subtitles I just can not see (and not only this one). The application completely stops responding to the panel. At what it is not important I ran the movie immediately with subtitles or turned them on later, the result leads to the application hang

The issue of DCA audio being transcoded to aac has been referred to the Smasung Plex App team
