Agents not working after upgrade FreeNAS from 9.3.1 to 11.1-U2 | Plex Server

Yesterday I have upgraded my FreeNAS from 9.3.1 to 11.1-U2. I have Plex running in a jail and I got everything up and running with no major issues after the upgrade.

Because I had a problem with my boot drive, I reinstalled FreeNAS today, uploaded the configuration I had backed up, and again no major issues. My PlexServer is working... so I thought.

Unfortunately I can't get Agents to work - no matching for new movies and no metadata for any new episodes for existing TV Shows.

I have downloaded the server logs, searched for agent related messages, but I couldn't identify anything recognisable as "agents" not working. I attach them to this post to see if anybody can help.

BTW, the only thing non PMS standard I have working is a PlexPy I have running in a different server.

Thanks in advance for any support.

Well, I think I found a clue for what is happening.

First, I found this post with a reference to a bug in FreeNAS 11.1-U2, regarding jails not being provided with a valid IP address if VIMAGE is activated in the jail advanced parameters: https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/no-network-in-jail-after-upgrade-to-freenas-11.55358/#post-440686

I have rechecked VIMAGE and lost network in jail...

Does anyone know how to configure network correctly from within jail (and FreeNAS server itself) using CLI while FreeNAS does not correct this bug?

I tried to assign an IP address directly within jail, but I understand the overall network environment is completely different if VIMAGE is checked or uncheck. This is what I did:

ifconfig epair0b inet broadcast up ( is my PMS address)

which immediately resulted in having access to the PMS, but I still don't get any result from the Agents. I can also see that my external access to PMS is broken, even though I have a report saying it is "Fully accessible outside your network".

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

To get networking setup in my jails, I needed to add 2 tunables to the FreeNAS system which tell it what NIC to use, and create a bridge to that NIC for the jails to use. Here are the tunables for my setup (System > Tunables)

    Variable: cloned_interfaces
    Value: bridge0
    Type: rc

    Variable: ifconfig_bridge0
    Value: addm igb0 up
    Type: rc

You'll then need to change the jail creation to use vnet, which uses the bridge. Check out: https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/understanding-iocage-jail-installation.60684/

    iocage create -n "plex" -p /tmp/pkg.json -r 11.1-RELEASE ip4_addr="vnet0|/" defaultrouter="" vnet="on" allow_raw_sockets="1" boot="on"

    Thanks Ratoka.

    I didn't exactly follow that thread, I followed this one: https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?resources/fn11-1-jails-for-plex-plexpy-sonarr-radarr-headphones-jackett-ombi-transmission-organizr.58/ .

I now have a new jail working, and I managed to transfer all my data from one jail to the other. Things are now up and running again.
