PLex naming convention - THE GREY ZONE
I really want to update all my files with more than just name and year!
The many codec and sources of files today requires additional naming scheme!
Plex does not distinguish and show sources so a TV recorded 1080p would be equal to BluRay in Plex
- BUT WITHOUT MESSING UP THE PLEX NAMING STANDARD (TO MUCH)!
First I thought that just creating a "." after the normal naming scheme would be okay and Plex would disregard anything after that?
But looking at the rules for naming multiversions: https://support.plex.tv/articles/200381043-multi-version-movies/
so it might just be better to do the " - 1080p" and the add the additional info after this?
And what I would like to do (Using filebot and Mediainfo) is to add to this without breaking PLEX?
I AM ONLY TALKING ABOUT NAMING OF FILES! - The directory is always "Title (Year)"
So I have come up with some different naming setups, and I would like to hear from people who have included this quality info in their naming scheme.
Examples - Multiple versioning needs to be in the naming!:
Firefly - s01e01 - The Train Job - 480p.HDRip.XviD.mkv
Firefly - s01e01 - The Train Job - 480p.HDRip.XviD.srt
Firefly - s01e01 - The Train Job - 1080p.Bluray.x264.mkv
Firefly - s01e01 - The Train Job - 1080p.Bluray.x264.eng.srt
Deadpool (2016) - 1080p.BluRay.x264.mkv
Deadpool (2016) - 1080p.BluRay.x264.eng.srt
Deadpool (2016) - 2160p.UltraHD.x265.mkv
Deadpool (2016) - 2160p.UltraHD.x265.eng.srt
Firefly - s01e01 - The Train Job.[1080p.HDTV.x265].mkv
Firefly - s01e01 - The Train Job.[1080p.HDTV.x265].eng.srt
Any practical experience or feedback from official "Plex authority" or Super-users to what is best?
Would be highly appreciated
