how do i import all of my photos currently contained in an iPhoto 9.8 library into Plex?

    you find out what folder the photos actually are and when you a make a photo library in Plex you tell it where that folder that is.

    That helps, but my photo library is on an external drive, and Plex wont let me select it. there is no option to show external drives within the folder selection. And I have to right click and select Show package contents. Will plex find the files without this step, if I can figure out how to select an external drive?

    for network drives you need to mount the drive on your mac, https://support.plex.tv/articles/201122318-mounting-network-resources/

    you can just type in the path. (after you have it mounted)
