Display SD content at actual resolution (smaller size)

I use a projector with around 150" screen. Watching 1080p content is great, but upscaled SD content looks shocking (of course). If it possible to setup Plex on my Apple TV (or perhaps via the media server) to automatically play SD and 720p content at it's actual resolution (ie much smaller size with letter boxing both top and bottom)?

At the moment, to make SD content watchable, I have to fiddle with the zoom on the projector with is a huge pain.

I've tried searching for the answer with no luck, but maybe I'm lacking the correct vocabulary to find the answer!

Any suggestions much appreciated. Cheers! Chris
