Subtitles containing italic identifier

Many of my downloaded subtitles contain in .srt file and . Plex -any- player appears these as "ö". Is there any fix for this?

Make sure that your subtitle files are 'valid' and error free.
    Many downloaded subs are not.

    1) Make sure every SRT file you use is encoded with the UTF-8 encoding. You can use a good text editor to do that or Subtitle Edit. Depending on the operating system of your Plex Server, there may be also this Plex plugin: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/94864/rel-str2utf-8/p1#top

    2) Use Subtitle Edit to find and correct errors in your SRT files.
