  • 2.0.0-M3 is out, I'll post the link in another message.
  • This is now implemented. I'm going to keep testing it for the next week or so locally to make sure that the basics are working but so far so go. I hope to have a new build out next weekend.
  • @pastadmin This is late but here is a working URL that I have that creates an mkv, but you can do the same with start.m3u8. Change the protocol from http to hls and it shoud get you going. I've also used Charles Proxy/Fiddler in the past to spy …
  • I haven't tried installing it on the Shield. It should auto detect the IP address. If not, you should be able to set it to 127.0.0.1. Note you will probably need to disable the Security settings and Account sign in for Serenity to be able to see…
  • Milestone 2.0.0 issues and status can be found here: https://github.com/NineWorlds/serenity-android/milestone/37
  • @dlanor sorry for the long delay. The Authentication support is still in progress. I'm in a pretty big rewrite and upgrade of many of the libraries I used in the application. I have some code that was partially implemented by another developer.…
  • If you have your server not signed into My Plex it will work, You can also specify particular IP Addresses to not require authentication. See: https://github.com/NineWorlds/serenity-android/wiki/MyPlex I also have the following issue open to a…
  • @coops1967 said: ps forgot to mention - if you're looking to make changes, the current browse sideways to view shows is slower and way more painful than browse DOWN as per Plex ie every click on a d remote sideways only brings up 3 new shows on s…
  • Haven't had this issue reported before. What device?
  • As I gear back up on this project. How many people still use Google TV devices? I'm thinking of doing one update that will still work on this device, and then ending the life of Google TV support for future updates.
  • Currently it does not support this there is no true public API for me to access without jumping through hoops.
  • I'm looking at adding the Universal Transcoding support for 1.9.5 release.
  • Depends on how well it is documented.  If they release an SDK or a Java API where I don't have to reverse engineer something, then possibily.  Serenity is open source, so anybody can contribute functionality or fork it to add missing functionality.
  • If you have a PIN set, remove the pin.  That is a form of password protection, and Serenity is not designed to work with a Plex Server that has a PIN or Plex at Home enabled.

  • Sorry, I'm just completely swamped with another project.  I'm always willing to take patches that implement this.  It is on my list to do, but haven't had much time to work on Serenity lately.
  • Can you post a copy of your XML file for the library that is closing. https://github.com/NineWorlds/serenity-android/wiki/Serenity-for-Android#reporting-bugs I suspect that something is missing thar Serenity is expecting to be there.  We used …
  • kingargyle wrote on January 21 2015, 5:43 PM: » It should work the same way.  Depending on the number of items you have in your library it can take a while to load all the items. I'm working on some code changes to speed up the initial loading…
  • macprivateer wrote on January 17 2015, 4:10 AM: » I figured it out.  For each new movie library I just needed to select Grid view or Detail view.  Doing that in a new library I guess does a loading of the media within that library. The odd thi…
  • This sounds more like a Plex server problem.  I would guess since all of you are Plex Pass members that Plex Connect is necessary.  If you disable the Plex Connect in the server, I suspect that you could play your local content without a network con…
  • If you force it to Direct Play, and it is an MKV with AC3 audio, you won't get sound.  You can direct play MKV's with AAC audio though.   Honestly your best bet if you can't transcode, is to use an External player with the app, or as was previously …
  • Serenity for Android works on the Nexus Player and no Plex Pass is required.  I do recommend loading MX Player as an external player with the Custom Codec installed to get the best playback experience on the device.  If all your content is in MP4/MK…

  • A few bugs creeped into the 1.9.0-M3 version, so here is a 1.9.0-M4 version. https://github.com/NineWorlds/serenity-android/wiki/Downloads#190-m4 Fixes the screen recreates that were loosing the last selected positin when returning. Fixes se…
  • Thanks for the report.  I've fixed the focus issue and Serenity remember where it left off when returning to the screens that are using the new fragments.  The issue was that the screen was being recreated each time, which could cause some extra net…
  • This version fixes the Android TV Search functionality.  It also provides some performance tweaks to the Movie Browser when switching between Grid and Detail layouts.  This is a release candidate, so really can use some tire kicking to make sure tha…
  • I'm using Android Universal ImageLoader library which requests the images in the background, so I can take a look there to see if they have a way to throttle the number of simultaneous requests.   I'm finishing up the 1.9.0 changes now so if I can I…

  • mclandypl wrote on November 29 2014, 2:42 AM: » So is it possible that Serenity is asking the server for resized poster/background art images?  And does it do that on-demand (when it actually needs to display an image), or does it just request a…
