Plex on Asus not reading USB drive

I have installed Plex on my Asus RT-AC3200 and all seems to be fine from that perspective. The problem arises when I try to add a library.

When browsing to the folder where the files are stored, I am able to see SDA1 (usb disk attached to the router), but it doesn't load the file/folder hierarchy so that I can choose the folder.

I am able to navigate to the SMB share from my Linux laptop and view the share from Windows PCs. I am also able to view the path structure from within the router's configuration/administration GUI.

Even trying to add the full SMB path will not bring up the folders within Plex when trying to add/edit the library.

What am I missing?
