any ideas if either networks will have plug ins available? if so, i can literally get rid of cable, thanks to the AmazonVOD, i get the HBO and Showtime shows i watch, and with these two network plugins and hulu, all the shows i want off of network. what an amazing product.

There is a CBS plugin request over here:
https://plexapp.ligh...-plugin-request

The CBS site has some high quality video, so hopefully somebody can retrofit the XBMC plugin to work better with Plex. :)

An ABC plugin has been in development for some time, as seen here:
http://wiki.plexapp....ins_in_progress

Not sure if it's still being actively developed - it's been listed on that wiki page for some time now...

You need your cable to keep your internet access don't you?
Oh wait, you mean there's TV on cable? ;)

But really, we do need both of these networks as plugins. Even though some of the content may be on Hulu and such, they are not coming from the same source so changes at the same time are less likely to happen - which means just having to switch which plugin you use to get to your shows.

I'm contemplating getting rid of Fios and going the whole Mac Mini/Plex/Hulu route. I understand the Hulu stream won't be HD, but whats the quality like if viewed on a 50" plasma?

Don't have a 50, but on a 42" plasma from 8' viewing distance, it looks pretty good. I have yet to try the 480p trick, but I have just cut the cable cable myself. I am using a mini for each of my 2 tv's, with antennae, hdhomerun, and eyetv. I also have a gateway sx280o that I made into a hackintosh for the recording and encoding of recordings. The wife just yesterday gave the approval and I will be calling the cable company to make it official. By the by, I recommend gigabit hardwire for the mini's, made a world of difference for me and Hulu.
