Hiya guys!

First I'd like to stay, good job on plex! I love it :)
Today I noticed there's a new version of plex on the android market. I upgraded ofcourse but found there's still no subtitle/language selection support yet.
Any idea on the ETA for those features? I like to watch my anime in japanese with subtitles :)

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for your post and the kudos!

You should be able to force subtitles on the server side:
http://wiki.plexapp....e_PMS_Subtitles

Support for switching between subtitles from the client is coming soon!

Thanks for the fast answer, awesome!
I read that, yes :) I got forced subtitles to work but it doesn't always work and is hard to switch remotely...

When is that 'soon' approx? *grin* :D

Eight Bit - No self-respecting slacker like myself would commit to an actual timeline!!! Seriously "soon" is about the most specific answer that we generally give out. :)

Unfortunatelly it didn't work for me. I have been trying for the last couple of hours and although it works fine for my iphone it doesnt work on my android tablet... :-(

Looking at the log of Opensubtitle it does not seem to find any subtitle online but I have it on my computer anyway...

Yeah - we found the issue with subtitles... so sorry for the difficulty - it's fixed in the next release.

Hmm, don't want to be a pain in the ass so I won't ask for an ETA.
But, what's the usual frequency new updates are released? Not expecting promises or commitments, just an idea if I should keep doing my daily check :-D

Gustavo - I can't blame a guy for trying. ;) As a rule we don't publish ETAs but "soon"... also note that due to some video issues we may do a minor patch release prior to a more significant release that will include full subtitle support (including the ability to switch between subtitles on the client).

Yeah, I understand, there are people that have difficulties to understand the meaning of E on ETA ;)
Well, I´ll keep checking daily anyway, I have fun reading all the posts even though I can't contribute too much besides reporting issues I'm facing :D

Lol - sometimes even when I think we'll be releasing "soon"... the company makes a quick decision to do something differently. I've learned to try not to suggest timing much so as to not mislead. This is generally a strength of ours but turning on a dime can also mean that we obsolete something we've said. For this I apologize... this is exactly what happened in this case. :(

Because of that - I'm not going to use the word 'soon'. I'll go with the Prego motto though... "It's in there"... meaning it is IN the next release but when that comes to market I cannot say for sure. Sorry for the inconvenience Gustavo.

Haha, I was just teasing Darrin! For sure I'm the guilty one here, you never gave any hint that soon could mean one week or one year anyway :D
BTW, I'm still coming everyday to check. Hope is always hope at the end!

:) Lol - poor fella. New MAJOR version will include subtitles. Sorry my hands are tied. It won't be released before its time. Fair warning: I will be doing at least one more patch release before you see subtitles.

Ok, expectations aligned, I won't look for subtitle support until I see a big announcement ;)
Meanwhile, great work!
