I'm not very familiar with MIUI rom, but there are a couple things to try. Go into Advanced Settings, and uncheck the option for 'Device Supports HLS'. After you have done this try playing a video and see if you are able to see the video. If you are still unable to see the video, go back into Advanced Settings and change the Secondary Player to Plex OpenGL Player. Try and play the video again.

Other questions

1. What file format is the video you have tried to play on the device?
2. Have you tried any other formats?

Primary PMS: Ubuntu 12.04, AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5Ghz, 8GB ram

Storage: 3TB WD

Mobile Client: 1 x Samsung Galaxy S4, 1 x HTC One, 1 x ASUS TF101

Other Client: Roku 3

I have a LG Optimus 2X running CM7 gingerbread
I have had that problem for a very long time, as long as i have had plex on my android (more than 2months)

I have tried some .avi files in SD quality, a .mp4 file 480p H.264 with 5.1 AAC and last a .mkv 720p H.264 with 2.0 AAC sound

None of these worked and havn't found anyones that does yet.

I have the plen 0.9.5 media server and the 2.0.0.0 verision for my android both being over the same Wi-Fi

I have no idea how to fix this and its pretty boring that it doesn't work :(

EDIT:

I just read this thread http://forums.plexap...video-playback/

It's exactly as he describes it.
Tried to turn on/off the 'Device Supports HLS' though, but still didn't work.

Upgrade to the latest version of plex on your phone 2.0.0.6. Also, you didn't even try the rest of the suggestions I gave in my previous post.

I just noticed that you were running the custom rom CM7. I had suggested this in another thread. It may be best to backup your current rom, flash a fresh CM7 installation (without modifying anything) and try to install Plex again. This will rule out any modifications you might have made that is causing the issue in Plex.

I am also having this issue on my LG Optimus Slider. I have tried toggling the HLS support and secondary player. Running Android version 2.3.4, any help would be appreciated.

Do any of your videos play? Can you re-rip one that doesn't work with the settings recommended here?

For users running CM7, although Plex worked perfectly on my Nook Tablet (which was running CM7) out of the box with default settings, to get it to work on my Samsung Epic 4G (Galaxy S - CM7) I had to uncheck Device Supports HLS and check Enable Direct Streaming. I saw many suggestions to change the Secondary Media Player and uncheck Device Supports HLS - but never saw any suggestions to check the Enable Direct Streaming, but that's what cured the "no video" issue for me on the phone. Hope this helps someone.
