I've experienced this as well and I'm concerned that it is, in fact, too many streams open to Amazon Instant at the same time. After the plug in failed, I jumped to my web browser and tried to load up a show and it reported the same error (too many connected streams).

I wonder if somewhere in the back end Plex/HT is hitting the request multiple times.

Yeah, it's very odd. Plex/HT is definitely doing /something/ different than the others. I've compared logs many times and am just not seeing any difference. Really need some fresh eyes on this.

After further investigation I found this when trying to play a video in Plex/HT (note the timestamps):

It appears that the reason Amazon thinks we're reaching the 2-view limit is because the HTTP request to `GetStreamingUrlSets` is being fired off twice within a few seconds. This code lives in `PlayVideo()`, so apparently Plex/HT tries to call `PlayVideo()`, and then the URL service calls it again a few seconds later. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Plex/HT should NOT be calling PlayVideo directly?

When played in a working client (Web, PMC, iOS, Android), the aforementioned HTTP request is only called once in PMS, as shown here:

There are no requests made in the plugin log, everything is happening in the URL service as intended.

Update: This was in fact the issue, and I was able to work around it by caching the first JSON response. The fix should be landing here any moment now. Enjoy!

jk0 great progress on your plugin, nice work. I noticed you said a couple of posts back that you've tested all the clients and that they were working.

I'm having trouble with my android client. When I go into the plugin from Samsung s3 all I see is "your library" and "preferences". Instant videos are not available?

I tried clearing the cache and app settings. I also have the latest android client and the previous android client ( on kindle fire hd) with the same result. I also made sure PMS is up to date.

Not sure if there's anything else I should try.

Thanks ahead of time.

The latest rounds of updates/fixes haven't made it to production yet (waiting on the new framework updates to go in -- should be any time now). Try again once those updates hit your PMS -- there's also an update coming to the Android client in the next week or so, which may fix some of the issues you're seeing as well.

Is this why the plugin stopped working on pmc a few days ago?

Hi. I just downloaded PLEX and am in the process of downloading channels to my MacMini running 10.8. For some reason, my username/password isn't working for the Amazon channel. I pay for prime and can access movies on my MacBook, but not on my MacMini using PLEX. Any suggestions?

Sorry if these seem like dumb suggestions...

You are entering your Amazon email address / password, not your Plex username / password, correct? Also, if you have multiple people / email addresses in your household using Amazon Prime for free shipping, make sure you're using the email address that Amazon designates as the primary Prime member. In my case my wife's email address is the one that originally, way back when, signed up for Prime for free shipping, so my email address gets free shipping, but if I want to stream any of the free Prime videos, I have to login using her account.

Yup, I'm doing all of those. My wife holds the Prime account, so I entered her email/password. It works fine on our Macbooks.

At first, I was using Chrome as my browser and thought that was the issue, but it's also not working on Safari.

I am able to get a list of movies but when I click on a movie I get this error: This channel is currently unavailable.

Here are the only error messages I see in the log;

Update: I am now able to view a movie when clicking on it in the list. Must have been a temporary outage this morning.

Ok, the framework and the plugin updated... now I can't even see my watchlist. When I open the plugin, it only has 2 choices - My Library and Preferences. Previously, I would add free for Prime items to my watchlist, which I could view.

Checked preferences to make sure they were correct, they were. I'm using PMC on Win 7.

I'm not certain what the issue might be but I'm still getting "Unable to play media" regardless of what I choose to watch.

This is from the Media Server logs, the log for the plug in doesn't seem to have anything interesting in it..:

So I deleted the plugin, all the settings I could find for it and re-installed from the git hub source. Same issue.

Any ideas?

So I deleted the plugin, all the settings I could find for it and re-installed from the git hub source. Same issue.

Any ideas?

What OS? Are you running the latest PMS and PMC (or Plex/HT)? More logs would be useful.

Also I recommend installing from the Channel Directory and *not* the GitHub source.

Bah.. ok, must be the client version checking that is happening in the plug-in. I'm running the compiled version that works with Live TV. If I run the "official" beta it seems to play perfectly.

Below is the relavent information you requested. the line of data for "Checking for Real RTMP support" may be the most revealing. Thanks for taking a look.

system: OS X 10.8.2
PMS: Version 0.9.7.13.433-de84cbf
Plex/HT: 0.9.9.4

These would be the relavent lines from the plugin log:

You can download the plugin here (until we get it into the store): [removed]

Are there any instructions on how to install this into Plex server?

Is this plugin currently broken? I just get an unable to play media MSG everytime I try to play movies or tv shows. Installed from the channel store
