These failures are in two very old, updated Windows XP SP3 systems (IE6 and IE8; 512 MB of RAM).

What's wrong? Thank you in advance. :)

You could read these related threads

Is it really a 512Mb RAM PC? Did not think it was possible to operate with such low memory level these days.

I still have a couple of XP machines but they have 2Gb RAM

Wow, complex just to install. I think I will have to pass and wait until I get a better OS. :( Actually, I was using my old 512 MB machines to test it.

It is only complex when it goes wrong. Very very simple when there are no errors !

I have PMS on windows 7 64-bit PC. Personally I would keep away from Windows 8 for as long as possible

You have to install the "Windows Installer 4.5 Redistibutable"

http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=8483

Thanks. I will try that later. I assume it will require a reboot.

No mention of reboot on the Microsoft KB

This plex forum post which is for the installer download above was confirmed as a fix for the problem by another plex user on XP

It worked perfectly. A reboot was required though. I wonder MS never released this through Windows/MS/Automatic Updates. :(

I'm having the same issue but I'm trying to install it on a HP Datavault which is running WHS v1.  I tried installing the Windows Installer but none of them would work.  I tried the x86 and 64bit, even though I know it's 64.  Finally I did a search on the error code and found this thread.

Any suggestions on how to install this on Windows Home Server v1?

I had a spare HP DataVault here and installed Windows 8 on it with Drivebender and it's working great, but the other one has 12tb of data and I don't want to start over.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried googling

plex whs install

I found hits on that and one or two of these could be relevant to you

Yes, that's how I ended up here.  I also found one that said the MS installer needed to be updated and had a link for them.  I downloaded the update and tried installing it 3 times but it failed.  Today I verified to make sure I had the right update, which I did and when I ran it today it installed fine.  I have no Idea why it wouldn't install yesterday, even after a reboot.

But once the update installed I was able to install PMS with no problems.

Now I have to figure out how to create a profile for my PopcornHours A&C200.  The App works fine and it plays all files except BR/DVD ISO files.  So more searching...

Thanks for responding.

Excellent news. If you have any other issues that you do not find solutions for by searching forums with google please start new topics in the appropriate forum rather than add to this thread

Perhaps antdude, the original creator of this topic, could mark it as resolved now.
