1.15.0.647 with tone mapping on the fly <3333333333 ... no announcement?!

I get the update 1.15.0.647 (Windows), now the tone mapping works with transcoding. unbelievable!

But why is nothing too read here in the forum? No announcement, nothing.

The only problem is 100% CPU utilization, despite HW Trancoding (NUC8 with i5-8259U).

Not sure that’s ready for even the beta channel. They’ve been discussing it here:

How did you get that one? Neither of my servers indicate an update and 1.14 is still the latest at the Downloads page.

Nice addition though!

There are download links in the first post of the “Much faster…” thread.

It is a preview release, so public & Plex Pass installations will not show when a new preview version is available.

The link is dead for me though

The link is being worked on.

Remember, all this is Forum Preview

NONE of this is officially released software.

Think I have it… Which Links are dead please?

Don’t know about the others, but for me plexweb shows:

Version 1.15.0.573 An update is available. Please install manually.

and that link does not work

To all reading here:

1.15.0.573 is a little broken. That’s being fixed now. Please hang in a little bit.

1.15.0.647 was an OOOPS It wasn’t supposed to be made live because not all the pieces are in place yet.

What I can tell you is that you will be seeing it SUPER soon. We’'re making one last quick check through it, and the download page to make sure everything is good.

I know everyone would love me to say “Tomorrow” but I can’t say that with 100% certainty.

We’re THAT close to full deployment.

Please just give us this last little bit to make sure everyone has a good first experience with the new builds and new features.

Supplemental: 1.15.0.573 is a manual download & update. Do not rely on the automatic

I just updated to 1.15.0.647, are you saying that update isn’t supposed to happen?

I got the update with downloading the deb this way

# Download Plex
wget -O plexmediaserver_latest.deb 'https://plex.tv/downloads/latest/1?channel=8&build=linux-ubuntu-x86_64&distro=ubuntu&X-Plex-Token=

That 647 started to show up yesterday was an error. Today it’s correct

Wow What a garbage update!!

That isn’t very nice. Why do you say that??? What isn’t working?

Wow What a garbage post!!

Yours yes, I don’t even know why you replying.

Pardon our dust! 1.15.0 is using a new deployment pipeline and it’s not fully baked in all respects yet, sorry if it created any problems for you - but this is why we do beta releases to find these issues. Did you have any problems except the rollout?

I have issues with remote access and now is slower than 1.14 also the nvenvc is not fully support it with Windows?

There have been some issues with rolling the update out, but this is a HUGE PMS update. They kinda downplayed it in the post with the “behind the curtains” remark. Unless you have been on the alpha you won’t have seen the changes, but they have been working on package performance and size for about a year now.

The new build is noticeably faster in terms of responsiveness and playback compared to the previous 1.14.xxxx build.

Please give the devs a little slack.

Can you please open a new topic for your issues, just so they don’t get lost. Nvenc is Linux only for now I think. Will have to check with the transcoder team.

Awesome thanks

Server side tone mapping doesn’t work here, is it really implemented? I’m certainly not getting it on 1.15.0.659 (windows) Can we debunk this topic?
