An immediate workaround is to disable the SMB(v1) protocol on the file server and use NFS instead.
(an NFS client needs to be explicitly enabled in Windows)
This and all other cases are being investigated by @sa2000 in separate threads. (like for instance in this one UNC Path not working following update to 1.32.0.6918 )
There were already some test apps being sent to affected users to help and diagnose the bugs in the boost code library.
