# 4K Streaming

My computer can play 4k Movies not problem but when I put 4K movies on plex it buffers all the time and it does not matter what server settings I use. Any suggestions on how to fix?.

PMS plays through your browser on your (in most cases) on your computer. Limitations of audio/video supported by the browser will determine what Plex does.
Transcoding audio (DTS -\> AAC or AC3) is a challenge for some processors when coupled with 4K transport and rendering by the browser.
If you’re attempting to compare using VLC, it is an Apples-Oranges comparison. The playback architectures and engines are entirely different.
