Server Version#: Version 1.23.5.4862 Android TV Player when you are in a film you cannot click on the actor to show all of his films. This feature works in the web browser or Apple TV. Something like that is also being considered for Android TV. ---

This is a long-standing issue / missing feature of the Android client. Until approx. 1 year ago there were no cast pictures… now there’s cast pictures but no option to click them. It’s a bit mystifying why this hasn’t been implemented after all this time. The Android (and specifically the Android TV) client seems to be given very little attention compared to, say, Roku, where the famous Roku ‘lifer’ @ljunkie keeps things moving along. 😃 ---

I always have problems on the Android TV that do not occur on other platforms. Can confirm this to that effect ---

Best guess from what I have read in passing on the forums is that it will come… Even on clients that do have the feature it discriminates between TV shows and Movies. I’m fairly sure I saw somewhere that eventually clicking on an actor image will bring up results regardless of it being a show or a movie. It’s my 2nd biggest bug bear with Plex right now as all the other server options (with Kodi and Infuse included) have shown all media involving a particular actor for many years. ---

We had been using Roku for years but recently switched to an Nvidia Shield. I kept wondering if something was wrong with my Plex server since the actor / actress selection no longer worked. Glad I found this because it was driving me crazy because it works fine when watching through a browser. Amazing that this doesn’t work given how popular AndroidTV is and how long it has been around. ---

Please fix this! This is the only reason why I still use Apple TV. Need Shield for Atmos playback, so now I have to switch between them all the time. Shield for all movies with atmos, and Apple tv for everything else… ---
