I would like to be able to give one (or more) of my managed users Admin Rights to be able to edit ~~and delete~~ _[mod-edit: duplicate → [Allow managed users to delete content (tv shows/videos/movies)](https://forums.plex.tv/t/allow-managed-users-to-delete-content-tv-shows-videos-movies/220012)]_ videos from my library. Normally I would just give them the PIN for the “King” account, but due to the fact that there is photo backup for a few other accounts, so for privacy’s sake…I’d like to limit access to that account to only myself. ---

thats a good idea, would be helpful to be able to allow other users to help maintain the libraries a bit. ---

Be nice if this was implemented, and wasn’t restricted to managed users only. There are several friends who I would happily give the rights to fix-incorrect-match for media on my library for me. Voted and bumping! ---

I run a large media server with my friend. Its hard to manage metadata tagging by myself. This feature would be a great help. ---

A family member that I share libraries with has offered to help tidy up the metadata, which I would absolutely love to happen, but I can find no safe way to do this without them coming to my house and using my computer after I log them in. As they live in another state, that isn’t practical. I need shared users to also have the ability to have this permission granted. ---

You can just share your login data (of the admin account). Not something I would do, but it’ll do the trick. ---

😃 yes, I could also handout copies of keys to my car, but no thanks. 😃 Instead, the ability to maintain reasonable security practices seems, well, _reasonable_. ---

You want to give him or her the same priviliges as your admin so this is practically the same as making a copy of your car keys 😉 ---

I don’t see it quite the same way; yes they can edit and even delete media on my plex server, but not cause any harm outside there. plex binds authentication to external accounts, ie google or facebook. these complications make credential sharing significantly more concerning. ---

That is only one option. I use user/pass authentification for Plex without binding that to Google or Facebook. ---

I think it would help to implement an option “allow editing metadata” allowed/denied in the restriction tab. A second admin would be too risky in my opinion. So you could add some users with more privileges than the “managed user” but not as much rights like the “admin”. And why not adding a knight helmet avatar (as the support for the king aka admin) for this user group? 😃 ---

I want to give my managed user access to my server to edit my metadata. I don’t want them streaming from all of my friends libraries as well, as some of my friends are pretty strict about my account being for my use only. (I’m not that way inclined myself, but there are plenty of people on this forum who have very strong opinions on this topic) ---

+1 I want the user to be able to change posters, edit tags such as Collections, maybe even hit “Fix Match”, etc, but not be able to delete media or affect server config. When I create a managed user, they don’t have access to the pencil icon to edit anything; they’re completely view only. That is what I want for some users (younger kids and mothers), but I’m hoping to be able to have others (the older kids) be able to help curate the media. I’m looking for a permission level between user and admin, a “curator”. ---

+1 I think this is a very useful feature, allowing others in my house to fix matches, add cover and edit other meta data would be great. ---

I’ve been using and advertising Plex for over a decade now. My wife still can’t delete shows after watching unless I log in as my admin account, where watch-counters will be “wrong”. It is embarrassingly ridiculous that we have waited this long for Plex to have some sort of update in file management abilities. Personally I’d like to not only give her the ability to delete shows/episodes, but also give my admin user the ability to MOVE CONTENT. Some simple built in knowledge where my libraries are and offer the ability to move, for example, a movie from /Users/username/movies/TheMovieFolder to /Volumes/MediaDrive/movies/TheMovieFolder. MAN what a world of difference that would make. In the meantime, I’m just praying for the ability to dole out some admin (content delete) abilities to other users and I hope that somehow magically my old 2015 Samsung Plex app sees that ability surface without crashing. _cringe_ +5 votes! ---

I’d love to be able to assign administrator and/or contributor permissions to users I’ve shared libraries with. i.e. allow them to modify metadata, add content,etc. We have multiple family members that assist with the maintenance of the collections, but we presently have to share accounts to do so. ---
