# Allow running PMS as a daemon on Mac

Please provide a Mac install that can be setup and run as a daemon. The suggested workaround of simply have the Mac auto-login at boot simply won’t do - it’s not secure and it delays logging into the main account if you need to let the ‘plex’ account log in first.
Note to those who suggest just adding a LaunchDaemon script; that Mac install provided requires the user the app runs under to be logged in for it to work.
I noticed [there’s a similar request asking for it to run as a Windows service](https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/46718/popular-create-plex-server-as-a-service-windows "there's a similar request asking for it to run as a Windows service"). While that request includes a line saying something like, ‘I’m sure Mac users would like it, too’, since the subject line clearly says ‘Windows’ I’m guessing we need a separate thread to vote on for Macs.
