Plex Media Server Logs_2021-02-03_16-36-36.zip (4.1 MB)
Using the browser Plex on my PC Nothing appearing in “Recommended” section on Plex web, can see films and series in “Library”, but under Recommended, it says, “There was an unexpected error loading this library” so tried to run the fix on a corrupt database but that didnt work.

Server Version#: 1.21.2.3943
Player Version#:

I have a Qnap raid unit which i’m running the plex server on. My fire TV can see the server and i can play films/episodes in both my films library and my series library respectively by using the search function.

However, the libraries are not apearing on the screen. Tried deleting the app and reinstalling on the fire TV. i’ve tried scanning for library files but that hasnt worked, the console says i’m trying:

I had the same issue this morning on all my amazon fire tv stick 4k (3 of them). Plex via a web browser and the plex app on my android cellphone no issues at all. So I signed out of the amazon fire tv, signed back in. Keep in mind I am using the 2FA , so after I was able to sign in I could see my media. But I had to reorganize the layout, like what library is first and what to remove like podcast. So I don’t know if the 2FA is the issue or an update to the amazon fire tv stick is what caused it.

thanks but i looks like it’s not just the fire stick where my problem is. The web version (through Chrome) shows films and series in “Library”, but under Recommended, it says, “There was an unexpected error loading this library”.

Manual Hub selection/deletion/moving, etc., is all messed up on FireTV.

Upon arrival an hour ago I had no Continue Watching. I made sure I was managing manually, went to the Movie Library/Recommended and there it was - just no way to add it to the home screen.

So, I return home and allow Plex to Automatically manage home - and you won’t believe it (yea, you will) Continue Watching Shows up like magic. So I return control of the spacecraft to me, The Pilot, and the app is crippled again. Can’t remove Continue Watching, and if it’s gone, there’s no way to put it back.

I’m afraid the harder Plex works on the Android App - the worse it gets. Users are hoping Plex’s skill at Android App development would improve over time, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

i dont know what you just said.

Well - Make sure you are Managing the app Automatically, 'cause Manual Management has issues. <—more than a few.

I did have a library to manage tho - so that’s the big issue for you, I suppose.

Check ‘More’ and see if your server is there - and selected - would be the most basic first step and after that it’s anybody’s guess.

i’m sorry, what do you mean by managing app automatically? where is that set? also, do you think this fixes the issue that i can see films and series in “Library”, but under Recommended, it says, “There was an unexpected error loading this library”?

upper right on home under the dots:
Edit Home Screen
or first try
Reset All Customizations.

Same thing can happen in the left side bar at the top - to the left of Home there are more dots - same dots apparently.

This assumes your app works like mine and to assume that with a fleet of broken FireTV apps would be - foolish… but give it a shot.

Good Luck

ah i see what you’re talking about now. no. As i say in my OP, even in the web UI it’s not right.

Web UI: i can see films and series in “Library”, but under Recommended, it says, “There was an unexpected error loading this library”

I can see under the Library (middle), all the films and the metadata. but the “Recommended” tab, it’s blank. except for “There was an unexpected error loading this library”

This is the console log when i click on Recommended in the desktop web app…
