Until recently on my Android TV, I think before the new player was launched, I was able to play videos without any issues but off late I am unable to do so. I can view my library but when I try to pay the videos I get the following error.
I don’t know since when, but all my movies are being transcoded to play. All those movies have been reproduced with direct play before without any problem.
The weird thing is that my TV shows plays as usual without transcoding.
In addition, some movies show that message and are impossible to play.
Sorry for the late reply. I was a bit busy this week.
After switching the the old player, I am able to play all videos again properly. With the new player enabled, there seems to be some transcoding operation taking place that prevents the videos from playing.
you guys should be posting logs, immediatly after recreating the issue you have on the shield/android tv, otherwise you likely wont end up with much help
I am not using a VPN at all. Not on the Plex Media Server on my laptop nor on the Plex app on my Mi TV 4C Pro. I haven’t done any manual edits for anything as well.
I am having the same issue on my airTV mini. Ive had it for 3 months and just in the past few weeks its been unusable with that same pop up for every video.
From what I can find about your TV, it is not an official Android TV. It runs Xiaomi’s MuiOS. Our app is only supported on official Android TV devices. If you sideloaded the app, then YMMV.
Well, if I change it to host mode all works again, movies and TV Shows, but I don’t have any bandwidth limit as sugested in that thread, so I don’t know what is wrong
I would research a bit more…
Edit to say that Kodi with PlexKodiConnect works perfect in bridge mode, it’s the plex app what doesn’t (mobile and shield tv)
I have the same problem as OP. It is the new player. I reverted to old player and problem gone. Of course old player has major bugs wrt the subtitles. But new player has those same bugs…
