When are us Android TV users getting to test the New Plex Experience ?? Alot of us do hate the apple ecosystem so we dont own an Apple TV.

Does anyone know if I’ll be able to say “Hey Google, play ‘X’ on Plex” or have new additions show up on Google TV home? I know this is not currently possible.

I think its pretty stupid that Plex is holding off on letting us test for the android tv version. I mean how the F can Apple TV get it before android tv ?

If the Android TV/Google TV is anything like the new phone UI please don’t give us the new version.

If my rack of shield pros at home get updated, I’m uninstalling Plex and putting Kodi+PM4K on all of them. I probably should have done that from the start since it’s infinitely more flexible and functional, just takes more time to configure and customise.
The new app we are seeing on mobile and now on some TV streamer platforms is laughably bad, releasing what could only have been an internal early alpha dev version to the public must have been an error and thy refused to admit it, there is no way that was intentional, even now after dozens of patches I’d still consider it early Beta, definitely not ready for the average user.
Also, if music is removed without plexamp for Android Tv being rolled out I’ll laugh. That said, music has never worked properly on android TV and I run Kodi for music becuase its audio driver implementation actually functions. on Plex 5.1 music gets played as stereo regardless of codec, sample rate switching doesn’t work so everything is poorly resampled to 48k, Atmos in m4a containers dont work, dsf/dsd doesnt work, sometimes it decides to play two songs at once and you cant stop it. it’s honestly funny how bad that part of the app was.
