# Anime sorting

lm having some issues trying to get my anime sorted, it turns out l cannot use Hama (my provider said something about it being because they use a docker, not to mention the readme of the install required root), but l do have the ability to use the absolute series scanner.
basically lm looking for a good way to sort my anime with the limited access l have to the server.

Do it the standard way:
Anime are tv shows
Look them up at TheTVDB
Find out if the series you are about to add is indeed a separate show or is registered as a mere new season of an existing show (happens a lot with Anime)
Reformat your filenames, so they fit the Plex requirements for TV shows. (Filebot!)
If your anime has “absolute” episode numbers on TheTVDB (additionally to the regular season/episode numbering scheme), you can sometimes avoid the complete reformatting of the file names. Just edit this show in Plex at the top level and set the ‘Episode ordering’ to “Absolute” in the advanced properties.

l managed to find a MAL agent for better sorting though TVDB isnt exactly the best for sorting, Hama just required privs that l didnt have to install.
Plex really needs more anime support from a DB like anidb.

So far I managed with my 290 series just fine, using the above methods.

some of my collection of more recent titles were getting miss labelled within Plex up till l tried the MAL agent.
