# Apple TV AC3 5.1

Firstly, I must comment how impressed I am with this entire PlexConnect project. Top stuff and really shows "thinking outside the box".
My question may be more of an Plex/ATV than PlexConnect but I need to ask somewhere.
I have the latest version of PlexConnect running on two Apple TV 2's. They're no longer jailbroken and running iOS 5.2.1
All works fine with a few caveats.
When I try to play a movie encoded with a true Dolby AC3 5.1 soundtrack I'm only getting the pseudo 5 channel soundtrack that my amp generates from 2 channels.
If I play the file via my TVICO TVIX it plays correctly with the amp showing that a native 5.1 Dolby track is being played.
Is it actually possible to get a 5.1 track from Plex to my ATV?
If so, do I have something configured wrong? My ATV is connected to the TV via HDMI with sound going to the amp via an optical cable.

You need to have either plex media server .27 or 9.8.x and then under settings then for plex media server under transcoder turn on show advanced settings and check the enable dolby digital on atv.

Fantastic. Audio now working correctly.
For anyone else wondering, set this option to on under transcode (advanced)
_Enable Dolby Digital during AirPlay_
Also, in the ATV audio settings, set dolby to On (Auto will not work).
Wished I'd asked this prior to watching the Hobbit yesterday in pseudo 5.1.
