Would you mind elaborating what exactly you have in mind?
e.g. double-tapping what to fill what?
The Apple TV has a feature where you double-tap (Not click, but ‘tap’ only) the center button on current remotes, or the touch surface on the original Siri remote, and the image ‘zooms’ to fill the screen, whether it’s 4:3 or Letterbox content. Note; Tap-to-Zoom has a toggle which must be enabled in Settings>Video and Audio>Tap-to-Zoom Video.
I too would like to see this implemented, or ‘furthered’. I say this because when I’m watching live TV one or two channels allow me to zoom using the feature but the rest do not. It also doesn’t work when watching Plex Channels.
Is this feature not in consideration?
The plex iOS apps all support the double-tap-to-fill-the-screen functionality, and so does Apple TV… except for the plex app.
Is it really that difficult to implement, considering that Apple TV already natively supports it?
Well, here’s an exciting update:
Apple TV now features the same level of double-tap-to-zoom support as iOS! As in they removed the double-tap feature from iOS/PadOS Plex! Now you have to navigate like 2 layers deep into the playback controls menus to do the same thing that you could do with a blind double tap anywhere on the video.
I really don’t understand this decision – who thought this was a good idea?
