I recently just updated my Apple TV Plex app and it will no liner find my sources from my media server that is being run on my Mac mini. I also have plex installed directly on a Sony TV in a guest room and all of my media sources show up there. What am I missing?

I am having the same problem, I can access recently added and on-deck items however I am unable to browse my sources.

1. update the Plex Media Server to the latest public release (version 1.19.3)
2. you might need to reboot the server after the update

So I went online and downloaded it and ran it but it did not update my version. Do I need to essentially remove Plex then download the new version?

you’ll need to share some more information if you’re looking for an answer. Plex is running on tons of different platforms with very different ways of updating – I don’t know which one you use (Windows, Mac, Linux, some kind of NAS…).

I am running it on my Mac Mini. I am currently running Version 1.9.7.4460 but the search for updates is greyed out and will not let me click on it.

Ouch… that’s really old.
You should be able to simply download the current version from the plex homepage and put it in your `/Applications/` folder:

PMS version 1.19.3 needs your macOS to be on Mavericks at least (macOS 10.9).
Best make a backup of the app and the Plex Media Server data folder, preferences (`~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/`, `~/Library/Preferences/com.plexapp.plexmediaserver.plist`)… just to be safe.

I am having the same issue since wed. I see new content (Crackle, etc) which took over my home page. I can go to more and switch over to my server. But only see the home page. The Library categories are gone (TV, Movies, Music, etc). Can only access home page for my content. My Plex server is Version 1.9.6.4429 and not allowing upgrade option (greyed out). Thx BTW, Plex works fine on my Xbox still. Only issue is the Apple TV app.
