I found what it is wrong with arabic "or any other" sub title that not work in Plex. I trace log file and found the problem..... 1- plex only read UTF8 srt files.... so you have to be sure that srt file is UTF8 (you can easy convert that using notepad++ or any other tool you prefer)    ![post-195919-0-32553500-1387921503.png|690x426](upload://jchbV1ZIElxeUFReIA7orMtHBRG.png)   2- remove any HTML code (ex  ) except (_) and any other thing like {\pos(195,110)}  (the easy way to do that in using reg exp as the following: \{[^\}]\*\}|\<[^\>|i\>]\*\> )_   ![post-195919-0-58378800-1387920799.png|690x381](upload://dUWwXXXbXfnuqH2V2M3B2roLFoZ.png)   3- add at the end of the file name (ara) before (.srt) (ex. Hours.2013.1080p.BluRay.x264.YIFY.srt =\> Hours.2013.1080p.BluRay.x264.YIFY.ara.srt)     that is all.... enjoy. ---

والي عنده 900 فلم تتوقع يبي يفتح كل فلم ويعمل هالموضوع ؟؟ كان الاجدر يحلون المشكله من الاساس حاله حال xbmc   ---

Here it is ;) some simple steps to convert multiple files via Notepad++ without messing up with special characters (for ex. diacritical marks). 1. Run Notepad++ and then open menu  **Plugins-\>Plugin Manager-\>Show Plugin Manager** 2. Install  **Python Script**. When plugin is installed, restart the application. 3. Choose menu  **Plugins-\>Python Script-\>New script**. 4. Choose its name, and then past the following code: **convertToUTF8.py** import os; import sys; filePathSrc="C:\\Users\\" # Path to the folder with files to convert for root, dirs, files in os.walk(filePathSrc): for fn in files: if fn[-4:] == '.xml': # Specify type of the files notepad.open(root + "\\" + fn) notepad.runMenuCommand("Encoding", "Convert to UTF-8") notepad.save() notepad.close() After all, run the script ---

use Advanced Renamer to batch rename subtitle files  and use this tag :- .ar ;) ---

ياخي قلنالك مو حل كمثال خلي تحميل الترجمات من السيرفر بليكس opensubtitles  راح تنزل اغلبها ansi  بهالحال كل شوي عدل والى اخره  صراحه مهزلا كل هالوقت موقادرين يحلونها  ---

Solution presented here is perfect, but unfortunately it is worling only if you are using plex web But if you mux the subtitle with the movie in mkv file (internal subtitle) The problem still exists! ---

I have still problem with arabic and persian language . Ipad shows subtitle like this "م س ف ب ف ص ش ک". ---

Me and other members tried to stop the release to the public for the current version until this issue is resolved but they didn't listen. Any way if you want to solve the issue for the latest release follow the next steps: - Uninstall your current version of Plex - Install 0.9.914.531 - Fetch the file DejaVuUniversal.ttf from the directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Resources" (About 4 MB) - Uninstall Plex - Install the new version of Plex-Media-Server - Put the file in the same directory - You will notice that Plex uses a new font named PlexFont-Regular.ttf (About 9.9 MB) - Rename PlexFont-Regular.ttf to  PlexFont-Regular.ttfold  - And rename DejaVuUniversal.ttf to PlexFont-Regular.ttf - Start Plex and Arabic characters will show as they should be. ---
