# Artist Sort Order

Hi there.
There is still something wrong with my Artist Sort Order.
My tags are i.e.
ARTISTS = Alice Cooper
ARTISTSORT = Cooper, Alice
ALBUMARTISTSORT = Cooper, Alice
In the Artist View this Artist still is ordered by A and the Edit-Dialogue shows (its a german UI)
Interpret = Alice Cooper
Interpreten Sortier-Name = Alice Cooper
What I am doing wrong?

Once Plex has ingested an artist or album or movie or…
it won’t change anything if you edit the metadata of the files afterwards.
There ist the [Plex Dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/plex-incorrectly-identifying-tv-episodes/100265/4 "Plex Dance") to force Plex to view at files as if it has never seen them.
(with Music you can omit step 4)
You’ll have to remove all albums & tracks by this particular artist, when performing the Dance.

No Luck.
Even if I move the artist completely out of sight, bounce the server, empty trash can, move the artist back in place, the result is the same.
Therefore my question, to which ID-tag the field Artist-Sort-Name belongs to or how it is filled.

The artist (and its sorting string) might only be purged after a week or two of being absent.
You either
- wait
- edit the sorting title manually
- scrap the whole library and recreate it
