Server Version#: 1.28.0.5999-97678ded3
Player Version#: 4.84.1

Recently my Plex no longer lets me see any media stored on my NAS (ASUSTOR), it only shows me its own content.
I went onto Asustor control panel and updated Plex to the latest version, however whenever I click on the app from the control panel, it opens a new tab and takes me to the Plex web player, and doesn’t appear to have any options anymore to configure where to point it for local files. Am I missing something? Is this now a premium feature or something? Tempted to start from scratch, but would love some feedback first.

That sounds like you reset your password and opted to sign-out all devices. This also impacts your server – so in order to get back full access, you need to reclaims it (as in the instructions on how to reset your password → e-mail / [forum announcement](https://forums.plex.tv/t/breach-annoucment/806518/2)).

To reclaim your server:

1. open your server using its local IP address from within the same network/subnet (e.g. http://[local Asustor IP address]:32400/web; don’t use any URLs, local domain names or NAS specific DDNS URLs)
2. open `Settings` \> `[Server Name]` \> `General`
3. click `Sign In` at the center of that settings page (next to the “this server is unclaimed…” message)

Thanks for the prompt response, so I go here http://[localIP]:32400/web, and it launches Plex. However there is no server under settings, I only have Web Web settings and General.

Also, where I used to see my NAS option, the only thing that appears is "_Add your media to Plex_
_Organize, beautify, stream, and share your personal collection of movies, TV, music, and photos anywhere, on all your devices. To get started, download our free Plex Media Server software on the device where you store your media."_

Then a link to **Get Plex Media Server** which I already have since I’m launching it from within my Asustor control panel.

Log out of plex, enter ADM, go to the plex folder and delete the preferences file.
Log back into Plex, see how that goes for you.

That’s the nuclear option.
Deleting certain entries from the preferences.xml files will be much cleaner → [https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/](https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/)

Alternatively you can use this script to reclaim your server:

> [@Server credential reset utility for Linux-based platforms](https://forums.plex.tv/t/server-credential-reset-utility-for-linux-based-platforms/807107):
>
> Plex Media Server User Credential Reset Utility In light of the security event plaguing everyone, a ‘quick & dirty’ tool was crafted. It’s a little rough around the edges but gets the job done. It’s been evolving due to the need. This tool, Removes the existing Username, Mail, Token, and PlexHome preference values from an existing Preferences.xml file leaving the server now suitable for claiming. Reclaims the server via a user-entered “Plex Claim Token” (obtained by visiting [https:/…](https://plex.tv/claim)
