# ATSC 3.0 and Plex

Anyone know if/when Plex will support ATSC 3.0?
I bought an HDHomeRun 4k tuner and noticed Plex won’t play audio for the 5x ATSC 3.0 channels in my area. My understanding is that Dolby AC4 is proprietary as the reason it doesn’t currently work with Plex. I tried the hdhr-ac4 workaround and the container compiles but the latest emby.deb file appears to no longer work with the [johnb-7](https://github.com/johnb-7)/**[hdhr-ac4](https://github.com/johnb-7/hdhr-ac4)** project?

Most likely never.
The larger problem is many (most?) channels have DRM protection and cannot be viewed by HD Homerun and similar tuners.
Search the forum for “ATSC 3” to find the threads with details.

I see. The available ATSC 3.0 channels in my area do look nice on the HDHomeRun app but I’m already in the Plex universe. I’m hoping to have a dvr option for ATSC 3.0 before start of the college football season.

I don’t know how it works with Plex, but HDhomerun has a subscription for dvr.
