# Audiobooks/Plex/Audiobook builder - What's wrong?

PMS for OSX & audiobook builder - using latest versions. I am taking an .mp3 audiobook with 7 chapters, converting it to mb4 using audiobook builder with "break between chapters’ and turning it into 1 ‘part’ file with 7 chapters. When I put it in Plex it does not recognise the seven chapters but has just 1 file with all the book in it.

Does anyone know how I can get Plex to recognise the 7 chapter separately ?

(iBooks recognises the single file as having 7 chapters. I do not have the Plex audiobook agent installed and I am not using the Prologue app.)

The extent of Plex’s support for audiobooks at this point is:

- The “Store track progress” checkbox (only useful if your audiobook is in a single file)
- An agent to gather metadata from [Audible.com](http://Audible.com).

Plex really isn’t set up to be a practical server for audiobooks. There is a popular [feature request](https://forums.plex.tv/t/support-for-audiobooks/27518) that you might consider voting for.
