I am trying to develop a personal application that uses plex’s authentication.

I accidently (didn’t even think) used a while loop without a wait/sleep to check a Polling flow pin.

I have now gotten an “api rate limit exceeded” error.

How long does this usually take to reset?

Searched the forum for “api rate limit exceeded.” Found this thread:

So if it was first throttled at noon, and persisted for several hours, shutdown until noon the next day is the normal self-clearing time. I see you have several servers. which one is having this problem?

You’ll need to wait 24 hours for it to unlock.

Plex.tv does not take kindly to anything which looks like a DDOS attack.

Thanks for all the responses.

Turns out I waited like 30 mins and it let me try again.

This time with a safeguard.

glad it wasn’t 24 hours though.
