Batman: The Animated Series TV Show Matching data is incorrect and i can't find a way to correct it...
It seems as if it has the episodes mixed up as in episode 1 is named, 01. On Leather Wings but plex has matched it as, 0.1 The Cat & the Claw (Part 1)
This is happening with almost all of my whole Batman Animated series seasons 1-4 and i have them named all correctly, i even renamed then differently from before and even then i still had this same trouble so am a little disappointed it's still happening and sadly there's no way to autocorrect individual episodes for tv shows :(
I have everything else matched up fine and my collection is solid apart from this Batman series,
Has anyone else managed to get The Batman Animated Series matched up correctly and what can i do to fix this without having to type up all the data info myself,
I've done well enough up to now without the need to make an forum account but here i am stuck and need a little helping hand if anything can be a pal ;)
Yeah...i can see by the list it's clearly wrong...am wondering what i can do to correct this, i even checked out myself via wiki as well as itunes, google play etc to make sure it wasn't a mistake on my end but no it seems i have everything labeled and named correctly in the correct order :(
Sorry, I can't help - I see that series on The TVDB is locked, so your kinda stuck. Maybe the use of a third party agent might be a solution. There is a forum for other agents.
I've just spent the past hour renaming all my files again and it still isn't matching...i named my files exactly the same as listed on thetvdb and it's not matching the season 2 of batman adventures...why is this the default database for tvshows if its this bad and unmatched???
Batman the Animated Series is one of those series where the order on the DVD and the order they were actually aired is different. Neither version is wrong, and the TVDB lists both orders - you can select your preference at the bottom of the season list on the TVDB site) Plex uses the aired order.
Installed the agent referred to above which allows you to select an individual show and match it to theTVDB dvd order.
Made sure the show file names matched theTVDB’s DVD order: eg: ‘Batman the Animated Series S01E01 On Leather Wings’ (which is different from the first aired episode of The Cat & the Claw (Part 1)).
Copy all the files into your Plex TV Shows directory (if you had it in your library before, be sure to move all the files out the directory, refresh your library, empty trash and ensure the show has disappeared prior to copying it back in).
Once the entire folder has been copied into the TV shows directory, refresh the Plex TV Library, and it should appear as Batman: The Animated Series.
Very Important, click on the show, and then select Fix Incorrect Match
Once that pops up, select Search Options, and in the title box write ‘76168’ (this is the number at the top in the address bar of theTVDB that also identifies the show. eg: Firefly is 78874
For the Agent, select theTVDBdvdorder and then clear the year field. Then click search.
The show should come up, click on it, and give it some time to autopopulate the metadata. Downloading and loading theTVDBdvdorder metadata takes a lot longer than the conventional way in my experience so if it does not happen immediately, try giving it some time. There have been times where I have had to do steps 6-8 twice.
Hope this helps someone, there is a ton of great info on these forums, sometimes spread around though and I’m not the most tech savy person, so I find it helps to have all the steps listed in one post, even if some seem obvious to some (probably many).
I also just wanted to thank everyone again who posts in these forums, as you may see, I do not post often myself but I sure use a lot of the content here to help me through some of my issues. A fantastic product and needing to tweak things here or there is worth it for all the other things Plex give us. Cheers developers and everyone who takes the time to make sure we have a great media experience.
I had the same problem with six million dollar man/ bionic woman - since that show had weird crossovers that would have part 1 on one show and part 2 on the next, part 3 on the next show. Such a pain. I also just realized that if there are extras or specials , you title each one SOOE01, S00E02, etc, and they show up with the series in a “specials” folder. I’m still learning.
Ah, what I had down as season 4 is actually season 1 of The New Batman Adventures
Apologies if this seems like me spamming. Thought I’d post what I did wrong in case anyone else is dumb enough to do the same

They are and they will…
It’s not dumb. It’s just being ignorant about looking up things on TVDB. Ignorant we can fix. Stoopit is forever.
You know… a LOT of these issues can be handled automatically by FileBot (link in my signature). Filebot actually goes to TVDB to ‘pre-match’ the show and that’s where it gets it name from. Granted, if your naming is exo-planetary in nature FileBot may have difficulty - they’re still working on that Galactic Universal Translator, but I’ve seen it perform some straight-up miracles.
sorry to dig up such an old thread. but i followed everything here and it sort of worked. everything up to episode 30 is fine, everything after has the airdate instead of the show title and none of the other meta data like synopsis was loaded.
*Edit: Nevermind its sorted now. My file names where still in air date order vs dvd order.

Sorry to bother after such a long time.
I did all of this and got the DVD Order vs Air Order sorted.
HOWEVER It would only populate the metadata for the 1st season (first 28 eps)
Season 2 and 3 won’t get names, lovely thumbnails nor description somehow
I tried to:
have all eps in 1 single BATMAN TAS folder
have all eps in Seasons 1, 2, 3 folders
Currently each file is named in this fashion:
“Batman The Animated Series - S01E01 - On Leather Wings, with Commentary (480p DVDRip)”

okay so my issue now with batman TAS is season 1 2 and 3 load fine now but season 4 only lists 4 episodes 1 2 5 and 15. anyone have this issue?
Batman: TAS only has 5 episodes for season 4
Where did you get 15 episodes from?
You might want to recheck your season count. Season 01 should have 60 episodes, season 02 & 03 should have 10 episodes each, and season 04 should only have 5 episodes.
