Being trying for 2 days to get 5.1 playing. Every other player does it

Server Version#:1.16.5.1552.8e8d0c785
Player Version#:1.4.1.940-574c2fa7

It shouldn’t be this difficult.

VLC and Kodi all play 5.1 fine.
The help files are years out of date as far as I can tell as there is NO ‘Setting/Audio’ or anything close. There is NO Passthrough checkbox.

Other topics on the forum discus old players from 2015! etc.

DO I have to pay to get 5.1. I was going to buy it anyway but wanted to see if I needed to become a network engineer to get it to work first.

Sorry just really pisssed of. 5.1 should be basic. It’s not 1999.

Old Coke, New Coke, New Old Coke.

Looks like you are running Plex for Windows (from the download page) and not Plex Media Player which was deprioritized to the Announcement page. Download link is here: Plex Media Player

PMP is what you need to pass 5.1 and match the support pages you found.

Hahaha, I might have to steal that line ;^)

This ^^

Good lord, their intentionally giving out stereo only player to people playing 20GB mkv files.

I head so much about Plex been thee media player. Its Micky mouse outfit me thinks.

PlexMediaPlayer.exe also does not work(5.1) and does not contain any different setting than Plex.exe

Advanced audio settings are available in “TV Mode” – if you have a small “tv” icon near the top of the window, click that.

Next, click on your user icon, and then on “settings”, then on “audio”.

You may have to use your keyboard to properly navigate.

Once you have your audio settings the way you like, you can continue using the TV Mode or switch back to “web” mode.

I honestly hope you’re just being sarcastic here. This isn’t the way to ask for help.
