# Best Encoding Option for all

I’ve got a lot of videos I’d like to convert so they can be used for direct play. What is the best container format for the following devices/browsers:

Mac - uses chrome and safari  
Roku  
Xbox 360  
Xbox One  
Chromecast  
Android  
iOS  
Android Smart TV

The idea is to eventually kill off all transcoding. Any thoughts? h264 with aac .mp4? thanks

Thanks. Personally I use XMedia Rencode but yeah

I use XR every day for remuxing/audio manpulation-normalization/sub title conversions, but use Handbrake for video encoding. Handy Handbrake Guide in my signature.
