# Best GPU or CPU for plex video playback

Hi there ,
I’ve got a mid class Pc ( Ryzen 3600 , and a Geforce 1660 super with 16giga of ddr4 ram ).
when I try to launch my 4k contents with normal renderer, sometime it lag a little bit. I use Plex in local mode with no conversion ( direct stream of big 4K file ( 60 gig Mkv files)
When I choose a less powerful render ( angle ) all goes smooth again. Unfortunately I loose 10bits contents .
I have some possibility to spend money in a new configuration.
My goal is to set plex to " ultra quality or make hurt my GPU"
What the best choice for it ? Better cpu ? Better GPU ? More rams ?

The above is for Plex _servers,_ not for plex players.
I’d say the GPU is your weak link. If you can find one go for an RTX 2060 or better
