Hi guys, I don’t know if this is the right section, but I didn’t know how to post this.

Anyway, I have a problem to find a good video converter, I tried like 3-4 of them an none was useful to me. I’d like to convert my avi files into mkv to better manage tracks with mkvtools.
The problem is that any of these converter pick only 1 audio track and I have (at least) double tracks. Of course I don’t wanna lose anything, least of all an entire audio track.

Any of you know a good software to do that?

MKVToolNix will re-mux your AVI files into a Matroska container (MKV files). Re-muxing involves no transcoding/converting of the underlying videos.

You can also use MKVToolNix to subsequently edit the individual tracks.
Their GUI provides among other stuff a `Multiplexer` for re-muxing, `Header Editor` and a `Chapter editor`.

MKVToolNix if a simple remux of the video and audio streams to an MKV file is all that’s necessary.

Handbrake - if a full ‘re-code’ is needed.

In that case, this might help:

File Sizes will be consistent at about 1.4G per hour. My eyeballs stop seeing improvement above about 3250kbps, so I give it 3750 and call it a day. Your eyeballs may require something different. Make a 4 minute preview and decide for yourself. [HB-Help1] [HB-Help2] [HB-Help3] Of course, you should create an audio track that will Direct Play.…
